Twilight Writer Becomes Highest Grossing Female Screenwriter
Yo go, gurl! Melissa Rosenberg has become the highest grossing female screenwriter due to the success of Breaking Dawn Part 1 . Breaking is currently grossing 647.3 million and is still in theaters. However, there is a bit of a catfight for the top spot.

Flashdance Is Coming To Broadway!
Who’s ready for a steel town girl looking for the fight of her life?! Only this time, this girl will be on Broadway! Sergio Trujillo will direct and choreograph the musical with readings in NYC this winter. Tom Headley , who co-wrote the Flashdance film, will return as writer of the musical. The musical will be a fully reworked version of FLASHDANCE in from West End in 2010 and new Flashdance will be released in Fall 2012.

All told, the film has earned a remarkable $542.5 million worldwide in just four days! Now, Deathly Hallows — Part 2 can add one more record to its already impressive list: highest IMAX opening weekend!! According to the giant screen distributor , the Potter film grossed a tremendous $15.2 million from domestic IMAX showings this weekend for a sizzling $55,000 per theater average

Transformers Doubles Its Box Office Intake Since Yesterday
Wow! That movie about giant robots kicking the crap out of each other while Shia LeBeouf runs around with a model in 3D sure is doing well at the box office! Like, really well. It has taken in $64.7 million dollars so far! In just two days! It’s on track for $165 million domestically this weekend, and $350 million dollars world-wide! What the what! That’s so much! We hear that it’s beautiful in 3D as well, so it’s no surprise that it’s making most of its money that way: In North America, Dark of the Moon is earning the majority of its gross—or 60 percent –from 3D theaters, including 146 Imax locations, which have ponied up a strong $5 million. That’s welcome news for Hollywood, considering the recent downturn in 3D attendance, and comes after Paramount aggressively marketed the 3D element

The Social Network Coming Back To The Big Screen!
Smart move! We bet there are a lot of people who missed it the first time around and want to see it on the big screen! Due to its overwhelming critical and commercial success, The Social Network is being prepped for a theatrical re-release on January 7th in about 600 theaters all over the country - just days before its debut on DVD January 11th! Jeff Blake , Sony Pictures’ chairman of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution, explains: “At the box office, this film showed true staying power, grossing more than four times its opening weekend gross – a rare accomplishment when the average for wide releases last year was below three times its opening weekend gross.” Wow! That IS impressive! We definitely think it deserves a second round in theaters! What do U think?? Will U be seeing The Social Network again, or will U just wait for the DVD?
