Madonna is currently in Malawi to begin construction of the Raising Malawi Academy for Girls on Tuesday, but she is so overcome by emotion that she took to blogging about it. She writes : On my first visit to Malawi, I was devastated to meet child after child who had been orphaned by AIDS. Having lost my mother at such a young age, I felt a close connection to these children.

Her Foreigner cover, I Want To Know What Love Is, a song that barely got ANY airplay here in the US, has been on the Brazilian charts for 20 consecutive weeks - at the #1 spot!! WHAT?!?! The song has received the honor of being the longest chart-topper song in the country’s history! That’s just crazy! They must really like their remixes! Congrats MiMi! So maybe her slurred speeches last week were marketing ploys?! (Or perhaps research and development!) Mariah Carey announced via her Twitter today that she would be coming out with her own brand of champagne. She tweeted out: “Didn’t realize they put the champagne on the tables, So we WOULDN’T drink it! LoL. No, seriously ANGEL CHAMPAGNE (ROSE) by MC coming soon!” It’s better she didn’t announce a specific date.
