Welp! Looks like Kate Winslet got a little somethin’ somethin’ out of that fiery ordeal at Richard Branson ’s island estate! You know, besides all that back pain from carrying his mother to safety… ha! Apparently, she found chemistry with Richard’s nephew — Ned Branson . According to British reports, Kate arrived at the island with her then boyfriend, Louis Dowler , but left with Ned Rocknroll (heyyy, that story sounds familiar)

Kate Winslet is a hero! According to Sir Richard Branson , the actress actually physically carried his 90-year-old mother out of his burning home on his private island on the Caribbean. Although, Kate is not pictured above, this is what the scene looked like when his home went up in flames. Branson described what happened: “My mother’s 90 years old and, in order — although she can walk — in order to speed the process up, (Winslet) picked my mother up and carried her, carried her out of the house, and so Kate helped rescue my mother.” He later said: “Talking to her (Winslet), she said it’s like being in a film set where you’re waiting for the words ‘cut’ but they just don’t come.

Poor Kate Winslet ! How frightened she must’ve been! Last night, guests staying with tycoon Richard Branson at his private island in the Caribbean thankfully were able to escape a house fire that started at his home. Richard had about 20 guests staying with him, including Kate, when a lightening storm broke out and a bolt hit the house. He, his wife Joan and son Sam were staying a in a different part of the property about a 100 yards away, but as soon as they saw the blaze, they went to help their friends.

Willi.i.am , the Blake Eyed Peas frontman, was evacuated from the popular London Hilton today. The hotel, which towers an impressive 28 stories high, is located on Park Lane in Mayfair where Will.i.am was staying in preparation for his performance later tonight at the Wireless Festival.

Not good!! Ricki Lake has been slapped with one hell of lawsuit, which claims that was responsible for burning down a Malibu beach house she was renting in 2010, and if she loses, she could be out millions of dollars! According to legal documents, filed Monday in El Lay County Superior Court by the home’s owner, Hovsep Kousouyan , Lake was re-filling a portable space heater with very flammable heating oil, when some of it spilled onto heating coals, causing them to burst into flames. The fire did significant damage to the property, and when emergency personnel arrived at the scene, Lake admitted complete fault. Kousouyan now claims that the home is completely destroyed, and wants her to pay for all the damages, which, as we mentioned, could rack up in the millions

Well, isn’t that ironic? The firehouse that Anderson Cooper is currently renovating in Greenwich Village, New York, wasn’t much of a help when the building next door caught fire . Anderson wasn’t at his home at the time the fire broke out and luckily, nobody was hurt - just a few broken windows.
